MotoTagz uses advanced algorithms combined with your smartphone's built-in sensors (accelerometer and gyroscope) to detect sudden impacts and abnormal motion patterns consistent with a motorcycle crash. When a potential crash is detected, the app will alert you and automatically notify your emergency contacts with your location if you don't respond within a set time.
MotoTagz offers both free and premium versions. The free version includes basic crash detection and emergency contact notification. Premium features include the Community Network (connecting with other riders), route sharing, group ride coordination, and priority support. Premium pricing is $9.99/month or $99.99/year.
MotoTagz requires an active cellular or WiFi connection to send emergency notifications to your contacts and emergency services. However, crash detection still works offline and will trigger as soon as you reconnect to a network. We recommend always having a means of communication when riding.
Setting up emergency contacts is easy! Open the MotoTagz app, go to Settings > Emergency Contacts, and tap "Add Contact." You can add as many contacts as you'd like. Make sure to inform your emergency contacts that they will receive notifications in the event of a detected crash.
MotoTagz is designed to be battery-efficient. The app uses minimal battery in the background while continuously monitoring sensors for crash detection. On average, users report less than 5% additional battery drain per hour of active riding. You can adjust sensitivity settings to balance detection accuracy and battery life.
If a crash is detected, MotoTagz will sound a loud alarm and display a prompt on your screen. You have 30 seconds (customizable) to cancel the alert if it's a false alarm. If you're unresponsive, the alert will escalate to notify your emergency contacts. You can adjust sensitivity in settings to reduce false alarms.
Yes! MotoTagz is designed to work whether you're riding solo or with a passenger. The crash detection algorithm analyzes patterns specific to motorcycle dynamics. We recommend informing your passenger about the app's functionality so they can help cancel false alarms if needed.
You can cancel your subscription at any time through your device's app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). Go to your account settings, find MotoTagz, and manage your subscription. If you cancel, you'll retain premium features until the end of your current billing period. We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee for annual subscriptions.
Absolutely. We take data security seriously. Your personal information and location data are encrypted using industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption. We do not sell your data to third parties. Location data is only shared with your designated emergency contacts when a crash is detected. For more details, please review our Privacy Policy.
MotoTagz is compatible with iPhone (iOS 14.0 and later) and Android devices (Android 9.0 and later). The app requires access to motion sensors, location services, and notifications. For the best experience, we recommend using a smartphone mount securely attached to your motorcycle or person.
In severe crash scenarios where you're unresponsive, MotoTagz can notify emergency services with your location. However, we always recommend calling 911 directly when possible. The app provides your exact GPS coordinates to help emergency responders locate you quickly.
